holiday rep drawbacks
Drawbacks of Being a Holiday Rep
As well as having its benefits, being a holiday rep also has its drawbacks, namely:
- You will be on call 24 hours a day, 6 days a week. It is not a 9-5 job
- Some seasons last nine months long which means you may be working this amount of time without a holiday
- Spending long hours waiting at the airport for delayed flights
- Transferring clients from airport to hotels in a coach with no air conditioning
- The money reps get paid is very poor
- When you are in uniform you are expected to be polite and represent the company, therefore you are never off duty wearing it
- Since you are the representative of the company you work for then you will most probably be blamed for everything that clients are not happy with. So be prepared to get shouted for things that are not your fault
- You will be expected to know everything even if you are new to the resort as well!
- Altogether it can be an extremely stressful job because you will be constantly doing something
